Everything You Need to Know

WHAT IS STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING?

It's a top-of-the-water magic carpet ride! With a super stable paddleboard under your feet and a long and light paddle in your hand, you'll be gliding across the water on your very first lesson regardless of your age or athletic ability!

WILL I FALL IN ?

Possibly ! Though we will give you all the best advice and techniques for staying on board, there is always the possibility that you will fall in so plan accordingly.
The wetter you get, the better you get!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ?

You are welcome to bring your own wetsuit but if not we provide a range of sizes to fit all. Footwear is not provided so wet shoes / boots are ideal if not an old pair of trainers that you don't mind getting wet.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING ?

We provide all necessary SUP equipment including board, paddle, leash, PFD/Buoyancy aid and wetsuits if needed. Bring a towel, change of clothes, bottle of water and sunscreen in the warmer weather. Most importantly bring your sense of adventure.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN WITH ME ?

We are happy for children/young adults 14+ to join our public sessions. If you have children younger then you can book a private/ family lesson. All participants under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by and adult or guardian.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ?

If there is light rain we can (and often will!) carry on with the lesson. In the event of heavy rain and/or strong winds then it may be necessary for us to cancel. If this happens you will given the opportunity to reschedule. Hey, safety first. If lessons are running as scheduled and you choose not to come due to weather then that will be considered a "no show" and not eligible for rescheduling.

I DON'T WANT TO JOIN A GROUP LESSON, CAN I LEARN ON MY OWN?

You can book a 1-2-1 lesson and learn at your own pace. We will assess your skills and work with you make you a SUPerstar.

DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SURF?

No. You don't have to know how to surf at all! Unless you sign up for the downwind course, were you will learn. We'll be exploring the still, smooth, secluded waters of Co.Down for an awesome flat water experience. You'll be hooked!

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WIND IS VERY STRONG ON THE DAY OF THE LESSON?

Wind speed is a very important factor when learning to paddle board. If we feel the wind is too strong on the day we will cancel the lesson and move your booking to another date that suits you.
